About Everyone's Day Hab in Allen, Texas
Background
Everyone’s Day Hab (EDH) is a Texas Domestic For-Profit Corporation that was established in 2012. EDH’s goal is to provide services for adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. We are a state of Texas registered individualized skills and socialization (ISS) program. Our program accepts both private pay clients and clients covered by state funded programs such as Home and Community-based Services (HCS).
Our Mission
An individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) will eventually “age out” of the public school system. This transition often leads to an isolated life style of spending their day at home in front of the television with little to no social interaction. Everyone’s Day Hab provides these special adults an opportunity to interact with their peers, to get out in the community, to exercise, and to continue to learn and develop.
Disabilities We Care For
EDH is committed to providing care to as many level of disabilities as possible. We are currently providing care for a variety of disabilities including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome, Lesch-Nyhan Syndrome, and Angelman Syndrome. Unfortunately, due to staffing and facility limitations, we cannot provide service to clients with behavior plans or disciplinary issues.
High School Transition Assistance
Everyone’s Day Hab provides transition support to high school counselors that have special needs students. We help students that are “aging out” of the public school systems in Allen, Lovejoy, Plano and McKinney ISDs evaluate our adult day care services. We believe everyone deserves a safe, happy place to go after they leave high school.
Everyone's Day Hab Is Unique
Everyone’s Day Hab is more than an adult day hab or day care center. We are like a family, the home away from home. Every member of our staff has an adult family member that is part of the IDD Community. We have first-hand experience dealing with the challenges IDD individuals and their families face. We know these special needs adults are one of the most deserving groups to serve. We also know they are one of the most misunderstood and underfunded groups. EDH is driven daily to serve this special group of individuals. Our team’s motivation can best be summarized by a quote from one of our parents with a down syndrome son.
