Our View on Exercise
For our special clients with physical disabilities, we offer adaptable exercises that can be modified based on the their individual mobility level. We focus on functional movement exercises that help improve daily living activities. This includes gentle stretches and mobility exercises that can maintain and improve the flexibility of our physically challenged clients.
Our Training Environment
Training at Everyone’s Day Hab occurs in an environment designed to be inclusive and supportive. We have trained instructors that provide your loved ones with individualized attention and exercise modifications when needed. Safety is always a top priority at EDH. We provide the proper equipment and support structures to ensure each participant can exercise safely and confidently. We do not push our clients to perform exercises that might result in them getting injured. We encourage participation in a fun way.
Our Approach to Exercise Training
We train our IDD clients using clear and simple instructions. Each participant has their exercises broken down into easy-to-follow steps. These steps involve repetitive motions that are easy to learn and remember. We often use visual demonstrations and verbal cues to aid in comprehension. We also include fun and interactive exercises for your loved ones. We often use modified dance movements to maintain each participant’s interest and motivation. We begin each training session with basic movements and gradually increase the complexity. Over time, this approach allows our clients to become more comfortable with the exercise which builds their confidence and skills.
Exercise Diversity
We offer a diverse range of exercises to ensure each intellectually and/or physically disabled client can fully participate. Our exercise sessions are designed to allow each participant to work at their own pace and level. We create an inclusive and supportive group environment for them to exercise in. We believe this exercise diversity improves our special needs clients’ overall fitness and enables them to enjoy the numerous benefits provided from regular physical activity.
Integrating Physical Exercise with Our Reiki Therapy
We integrate our Physical Therapy program with our Reike Therapy. Combining the two together helps reduce our clients’ anxiety and depression symptoms. We believe reducing these symptoms has a positive impact on their overall mental health. It provides each participant a sense of accomplishment and improves their self-esteem.
Our Partnership with “Power To Move”
We have partnered with Power To Move in developing our Physical Therapy program. Power To Move is a local Christian based organization dedicated to helping people with disabilities experience active and healthy lives. Their certified trainers have helped us design fitness training specifically for adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. Each training session incorporates a variety of exercises tailored to meet the unique needs and abilities of our clients.
Everyone’s Day Hab’s Physical Therapy Program Benefits
Through our partnership with Power To Move, Everyone’s Day Hab is able to offer a comprehensive and inclusive approach to exercise for our IDD community. We deliver each training session in a supportive environment using a diverse range of adaptable exercises. Our program provides participants with numerous physical, mental and social interaction benefits. We believe each of our special needs individuals improves their independence and quality of life from participating in Everyone’s Day Hab’s Physical Therapy program.
